Strawberry Reservoir.
Problem was, it was the last day of the heaviest fishing pressure the lake is going to see this year and it was stocked with 900,000 planters the week before in anticipation of the first day of summer weekend. The native fish were freaked to say the least and the Powerbaiters were out in force. (Dickmunchers follow the stocking trucks like stink follows a rancid skunk.) Powerbaiters are the lowest form of human scum on the planet. Scuzzbags of the worst kind. The lake is usually pretty pristine, but that weekend there was miles of filament along the shore, empty powerbait bottles everywhere, beer bottles strewn about, food containers thrown wherever, etc. The carcasses of illegal fish (cutthroats between 15 and 22 inches must be thrown back, but the powerbaiters don't throw back) lined the shore where they cut off the head and filleted the body of the meat. ****ing maggots. I spent the day wandering the shore with a trashbag picking up crap. |
