under 30

I imagine he will be a guy that doesn't win much if you ask him to pass more than 30+ times.

25 is better
35 risks implosion

So everyone thinks that Reid knows that Smith can't handle the exposure of 35 passes per game? Cause clearly Reid is a 35 pass per game kind of coach.

Reid's average pass attempts per game is 34. When Alex Smith has been asked to throw that many or more he is 3-13. That number also kind of baffles me that he has only throw 34 or more passes only 16 times his entire career. Just for some comparsion, Matt Barkley in 4 years at USC has done it 27 times including 10 his junior year. His junior year he went 9-1. That's pretty damn impressive stat, for his entire career he is 17-10. If that was projected into the NFL, he would be a 10-6 QB and Marty Schottenheimer would be proud.

Nick Foles and Mike Vick threw the ball a combined 616 times.

That equates to 38.5

My guess is around 34-36 for a total around 550.

If they can do that while maintainting his ypa and his low turnover ratio, we can win a lot of games with Alex.

ypa = (air yards/comp + yac/comp) * comp%

Smith is low in (air yards/comp) and high in comp%. Crabtree is a good YAC receiver.

I think Reid will push for higher (air yards/comp), since that is his pattern in Philadelphia. It is reasonable to think Smith's completion percentage will drop, but how much? Downfield passes have more inherent risk. Will Smith pull the trigger or will he hold the ball too long looking for a sure thing or will he dump it?
