Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

So... I have a very cool Type 56 SKS. I have the original stock but it is 3 fired shots away from being a bag of splinters. It currently has a collapsible folding stock which is ugly as shit and of questionable legal status.

I will be replacing the stock and am 98% sold on a Tapco TimberSmith stock. The question is... brown or black?

Personally I am leaning to the brown because it is closer to stock than the darker one.

lol, I think I have this stock on my sks. I kinda like the black wood but that's just me, you can't go wrong with either choice.

1,000-round box of Winchester M22 .22LR in stock on Cabela's website, available through slickguns.com

http://www.slickguns.com/product/winchester-m22-4999

Click on the "Go To Store" button, and it will take you to Cabelas.com.

There is a limit of 1 per order. But apparently there isn't a limit of how many orders you can submit.

I REALLY need to stay the hell out of Red Rock sporting goods in Miles City. I ended up buying yet another gun today from those guys. A new 45-70. It will be my tag along gun on my mountain atv rides and deep brush fly fishing for shit canning grizzly bears.

I also got ordered some of this hard cast ammo to get the job done. There are guys dropping rhinos and bigger with this round. At $5 a round, this won't be my paper round. Here bear.......

540-gr SuperHardCast gas-checked Hammerhead at 1550-fps*

Energy: 2880 ft/lbs: Taylor Knockout Value: 55; Meplat: .360”;
Chamber Pressure: 35,000-cup; Brinnell Hardness: 25;
Trajectory: +2” @ 50-yds, ZERO

@ 120-YDS, -8.5@ 175-YDS

FIRST CHOICE for defense against heavy grizzly
Our 540-gr +P Hammerhead Ammo is the ideal choice for stopping heavy bears at close quarters or hunting them at short range. This Hammerhead bullet has a meplat (frontal flat) diameter of .360”, which is just one tenth of an inch less than bore diameter. With its tremendous weight to diameter ratio (sectional density) it provides end to end penetration on the heaviest of bears, with exit, and does tremendous damage per unit of penetration due to its extremely blunt front end. This load is carried exclusively by NOAA for protection against coastal grizzly attack. It is also carried by the National Marine Fisheries Service and the U.S. Geological Survey for protection from grizzly attack. For the specific task of stopping a grizzly charge, this ammo has no peer.

Someone needs to cure the trigger problem, though.

10 pound trigger is too much.

I am signed up at about every website possible and several dealers to buy the next 16.5" Tavor that comes available.

2k isn't cheap, but damn it looks cool.
