Well, apparently we're not the only school that got beat out for Leach by Wazzu. Then again, maybe we don't know everything there is to know about the situation and maybe it is as simple as you say.

No Mike, we simply don't have any clue because the KU AD has been Pioli-esque with this process. It's simply all guesswork and speculation.. by all parties, including LJW's Taint. What people are doing here is providing counter arguments against all the poking and prodding that you and yours' are doing.

Yeah...poorly.

My swing collapses at the top, the face comes open, I push the ball off right and generally lock myself up on my follow-through. Or I can flick my wrists shut on my recovery and hit my iron about 50 yards short of where it should be...but fairly straight anyway.

I am, in short, a shit golfer. And as a bit of a temperamental lad, I don't play with people I don't know so as not to embarrass myself.

And that's fair, but it brings you back to DJ's point. There was one great option that was theoretically possible, and WSU got him. Either he chose WSU over KU, or Zenger made the gutless decision not to target him.

For KU's purposes, #1 is the much better scenario. You can say that the KU cupboard is temporarily bare and that Leach took the job at the school with a better short-term outlook. If Zenger prefers a mid-major choir boy (sound familiar?), that is much more damning.

Way too much analysis.

Here's my take on my golf game, "I hit it and then try to find the f***er, so I don't have to pay for another one of them things".

No, I didn't say he wasn't a contender or even wasn't the main target. I said we really don't know. As far as Tait, he has said up front in every one of his columns that he really doesn't know because the AD is very quiet about all of this.

I don't believe Leach was ever a contender, because he obviously was going to get better offers. I don't think we "lost out", I don't think KU was ever really in the running to begin with.

So you honestly think deriving such a short-sighted multiple choice question does not reek of blatant fishing? Both answers are tee'd up for you to have fun with, which is the entire point, right? Why respond to that?

Zeke,

KU fans and the media covering them have been touting Leach as the go-to guy for 2 months. Several of you here and elsewhere have referenced "sources" that Leach was target #1.

Which is it?
