Tom Coughlin on Mike Cloud
Giants.com reports that backup RB Mike Cloud has caught Tom Coughlin's eye. "Mike Cloud, when he did carry the ball, appeared to be a versatile football player who actually looked a lot this spring like he did up in Minnesota when he had the ball in his hands," Coughlin said in reference to Cloud's 55-yard, two-TD game at Minnesota. "I think that was perhaps some of the best things that he did this spring was to show us that again."

I didn't even know he was still in the league.

He definately was never going to make it with the Chiefs, but I never understood why he didn't get more of a chance after that Oakland game he had - was that 99 or 00??

Season opener in '98. I remember him going long and was wiiide open for a Rich Gannon pass, only to have it bounce off his fingers. Would have been a sure TD. The ESPN cameras caught Marty raising holy hell in Cloud's face after that. IMO, his confidence went right in the crapper after that.

He started in 99 (unless NFL.com has it wrong) and I think it was the second Oak game in 00 - he rushed for somethink like 90 yards on 20 carries and a TD. He sat the bench from that day forward.
