The much-discussed potential trade of Branden Albert from the Chiefs to the Dolphins doesn’t appear likely at the price Albert is currently seeking.

Although the Chiefs and Dolphins can probably agree on compensation — the Dolphins sending a second-round pick to Kansas City — the hangup is that Albert wants the kind of money that the Dolphins aren’t willing to spend. Specifically, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, Albert wants between $8 million and $9 million a year on a long-term deal.

In other words, Albert is looking for the same kind of contract that left tackle Jake Long got from the Rams — the very contract the Dolphins wouldn’t give Long, which is why he left Miami for St. Louis.

If the Dolphins weren’t willing to pay Long that kind of money, it’s hard to see why they’d be willing to give up a second-round draft pick for the privilege of paying Albert that kind of money. So the Dolphins may need to look elsewhere for a left tackle. And Albert may have to settle for playing this season for the Chiefs, making $9.8 million, and hitting free agency next year.

There is 0 reason to believe drafting Sanchez would have accomplished anything different except shutting up the we haven't done that in 30 years crowd.

Sanchez proved he could play pretty good when he had a running game and receivers. And what would he have had in KC? Charles and Bowe. He was at his best when he could run play action, and how Charles run that would have opened up alot for him. Besides the Jets did the opposite of what you want to do they had the team and then let it fall apart, its really amazing how much talent they let go off that team.

No. He didn't prove he can be pretty good. He proved he needs an absolute perfect storm. The guy has regressed to the point he's a league joke.

If Andy Reid is this QB guru everyone says he is, there might be an argument there on that alone.

But Smith is WAY more talented than Cassel so there isn't really one.

Meh, like I said earlier, it's all about the timing of it. Same could be said about Alex Smith two years ago.

IMO, Sanchez has got boned in regards to the coaching and system etc in NY.

The playoff run he played pretty good and made the plays when he needed to. Then Jets got stupid gave him the big contract and went away from his strengths. Combined with a nutty head coach and roster depleted, its pretty clear what happened in New York and its not all on Sanchez.
