Gordon will enter NFL draft

LAWRENCE — Kansas cornerback Charles Gordon has played his last college football game.
Three sources close to Gordon informed The Star late Saturday night that Gordon will forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the 2006 NFL draft. Gordon, who just completed his junior season, was a preseason All-American in 2005 after leading the nation in interceptions as a sophomore. He’s also the school’s all-time leading punt returner.
Gordon divided his time between cornerback and wide receiver last season, a scenario that ultimately contributed to his decision to leave school early.
Sources told The Star that Gordon was concerned he would be used primarily as a receiver in 2006. Gordon, who helped KU to bowls in two of the last three seasons, feared that could have hurt his draft status because he is projected as a cornerback in the NFL.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Gordon was projected as a first- or second-round pick prior to the season, but his stock is believed to have fallen a bit in the last few months.

I like Gordon, but I'd take him after Reid, Kane, or Keith

Meh. I'm not high on Reid or Kane. Great college LB's, but I don't think they will do that great in the pros.

Charleton Keith looks like a good prospect though.

Reid is a better prospect than Kane. I imagine he'll be the normal late round draft pick LB that plays special teams a couple of years and either hacks it or doesn't. Keith could be a nice situational rusher. He has good athletic ability (see the int. in the Houston game) but he is a little small for every down play at this point.
