I'm back and forth on believing that. It's odd that after watching all his game tapes, meeting him at the combine that they are just now becoming enamored with him.

Source told me that the trade for Alex Smith was agreed to before the combine. I think La Conforia reported the same thing when the trade broke but I'm not sure.

The Wednesday announcement came after the Chiefs got a chance to talk to Alex and make sure he wanted to come here.

That would at least lend to the fact that they may really like Geno. I'll say this that the 2 day visit in KC is really compelling about all of this.

If he wows them, he very well may be the pick.

I legitimately think they are undecided at this point. I think it's between 5 guys - Joeckel, Fisher, Geno, Ansah and Jordan.

He's raw, but remember that he would have the guidance of Hali (and Houston, I guess), allowing him a bit of time to absorb knowledge from some of the best rushing linebackers in the NFL before he truly becomes a starter. That's not a liberty that he'd have on a lot of other teams.

He still has a higher bust potential, whether this class has alot of talent at the top or not. It's a draft class like this that will really show Dorseys scouting hopefully.

I'd rather trade back but that's probably because I haven't watched more than 4 games of Ansah and have watched more than that of a ton of later round prospects.

I thought we would be able to a week ago, but I'm not sure we are able to trade down. This really is a shit draft at the top in regards to high end day 1 talent, LT"s aside.

It almost needs to be viewed somewhat as an NBA draft, where you're future drafting.

Here's the thing though...

We already have Hali and Houston...how much impact could Ansah get his first two years as a third rusher?

If we are talking about that type of impact for two years, why not take a qb and sit him for a year or two?

There is not much difference in win/loss impact for the first two years, but beyond that the upside for a quarterback is far higher than a pass rusher.

You're talking about 0 impact from the QB for 2 years, vs some for teh pass rusher. As much as we will be in subsets, I wouldn't quite oppose it.

Plenty, if he isn't a complete sack of shit. There are quite a few creative ways to get 3 pass rushing DEs/OLBs on the field at the same time. Can't do it every down (yet) but there are certainly ways to do it and do it effectively.

My concerns with Ansah

1) the guy could be 30 years old...nobody knows FOR SURE
2) unproductive in college...unless I'm mistaken, he has t even started a whole year.
