TheRanchReport.com brings you the latest on the Terrell Owens and his situation as it pertains to the Cowboys, the Eagles, and at least one other team.

With today's deadline for the Philadelphia Eagles to pay a $5 million roster bonus quickly approaching, TheRanchReport.com has learned that at least one other team will contact Terrell Owens' agent Drew Rosenhaus, in regards to a last-minute deal.

Here is what TheRanchReport.com has discovered Tuesday morning:

* According to sources close to the situation, the Kansas City Chiefs are now ready to offer a multi-year deal to Eagles' wide receiver Terrell Owens. Before, the Chiefs were only willing to offer a one-year deal with incentives. However, now that the team finds itself $10.5 million under the salary cap ($9 million after they finish negotiating with another free agent we’re told), it will now make a more serious run at a “well-known” cornerback and Owens.

* Sources say that Chiefs are prepared to offer Owens a multi-year deal and will contact Rosenhaus regarding the new offer today.

* Knowing Rosenhaus, it would not be surprising to see him turn right around and present that deal to the Cowboys and ask the question, "Can you do better?"

* As reported by TheRanchReport.com Saturday, the Chiefs and Eagles have already spoken about a potential trade for Owens. The deal that was on the table would involve a second-day draft pick (likely fifth or sixth round selection). However, the hold up on such a move involved the fact that the Chiefs were unwilling to offer Owens anything more than a one-year contract. Owens wants a multi-year deal with incentives.

* At this time, it is unclear if the Chiefs offer Owens a multi-year deal, if a trade with the Eagles will be involved. In other words, Owens could still easily become a free agent after today's 4 PM deadline and the Chiefs and Cowboys would then be involved in a "who wants him more" battle.

* For the Cowboys, the only way the team can sign Owens is if he becomes a free agent. The Eagles are unwilling to trade him to another team in the NFC East.

* Making the matter more complex is the fact that current Cowboys wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson is due a $1 million roster bonus at the same time Owens is due his. Speculation in the Metroplex continues to mount that Johnson may not be back with Dallas in 2006, should the team decide to sign Owens.

In summary, we know that the Kansas City Chiefs are emerging as serious players in the Terrell Owens sweepstakes. We know that they will be contacting Terrell Owens' agent today regarding a possible multi-year deal in an effort to try and sign him, either in a possible trade or as a free agent. We are speculating that if the Chiefs do indeed offer Owens a multi-year deal, that Rosenhaus will contact the Cowboys to ask them if they can do better. We are also speculating that if the Cowboys were to sign Owens, Keyshawn Johnson's days in Dallas could be numbered.
