Our lineup is ****ing dreadful. Rios is the only hitter I like except Vicedo who is hurt also.

This game 100% is in Ned. Shields should have had a chance at a complete game shutout & Ned is why that didn't happen!

He never was for us. He's a 3 outcome hitter (K, BB, HR). Konerko is showing age which sucks because he's always been my favorite after Frank Thomas left.
Viciedo is gona be fine but he's hurt. Flowers well see about him. Keppinger hasn't been a good signing so far. I'm ready to suck bad this year and trade vets and start over. Get a top pick and let our scouting department get us a stud player with our 1st pick.

I was following on MLB Network and they said um why isn't Big Game finishing it? I said phew! Hey Ned, his nickname is Big Game for a reason.

It's time we made some changes to the 5th spot of the rotation. I say we put Crow in as a starting man. Or trade for Doc Holliday.

Let Mendoza settle in and get some consistent outings without the rotation being shuffled before we make any rulings on the 5 spot. Halladay? He's done, he's sporting an 8.65 ERA and was put on the DL yesterday for shoulder issues.

I just wish that winning was 1st priority for Yost.

He follows all these little rules with the pitching that isn't about winning.

getting your closer into every save situation
not letting the starter risk getting a loss
not pulling the closer once he goes in even if he's pitching like shit

**** all these made-up bullshit rules

Pitching is the ultimate streaky position ... go with the hot hand unless their is a pitch count problem.

How many games is it going to cost us this year .... 10?

I can think of 2 or 3 already. A 10 game swing might be the difference in us being above .500 this year or maybe even having a chance at the division.

Excerpt from the AP article

Quote:
Royals manager Ned Yost said he was not tempted to let Shields work the ninth.

''Everybody has their job to do and Shields had done his,'' Yost said. ''He threw eight shutout innings. It was a one-run game. The runs make all the difference. If it was a two-run or a three-run lead, yeah. But in a one-run game, (if) you send him out he's either going to win it or lose it. You let the closer go out and try to do his job.''

Shields, who lost to Sale 1-0 on opening day in Chicago, allowed two hits and struck out a season-best nine. He walked two.

''I felt good out there,'' Shields said. ''I felt like I had all my pitches working. I struggled early in the game getting ahead of hitters, and I gave up a couple of walks. But for the most part it was a tough battle. When you're facing Sale, it's going to be tough.''

LaRussa did this with the Cards and go ask Cards fans how they feel about LaRussa (oh wait they probably have flip flopped on that too)

the dude did win a TON of games with the Cards and all of their dipshit fans hated the **** out of him for these very same things you want Ned Yost to do

I think the main problem with LaRussa is the problem some of you guys have with Ned...LaRussa was the KING of overmanaging

but at the end of the day, he won...so I guess if he ever managed my team and he got those results I feel like he could do whatever the **** he wants
