*** Official 2017 Royals Offseason Repository ***

The reign is over. Time to begin the quest for the next one.

Interesting offseason opens for the Royals. Will they go all in for one last shot with this crew? Will they re-tool for 2018 and beyond? Will Dayton Moore actually decrease payroll this time?

Trades, free agent signings, rumors, plans, proposals... dump 'em all here, for this is... the offseason repository!

Royals Top Prospects, 2017

This is a list that’s going to seem a little bleak initially, as Raul Mondesi got enough ABs to age out of the prospect rankings (just barely – at 135 ABs, he is not rookie eligible). But that said, I like the talent and feel like this is a system that will actually be underrated by the prospect services.

Spoiler!

So Machado 11M, hoz 12M, Bryce Harper 13M.

Any doubts now that DM should've taken him on? Seriously.

If it's true we moved Dyson and Davis to save 6M, then you know the answer.

It's a moot question anyway, since teams don't just hand out money freely.

It's great that it isn't true!

That's a fair question to ask.

The answer is that Dayton Moore is a very smart GM who has earned our trust. Besides, the trades of Wade Davis and Jarrod Dyson could hardly be called salary dumps. GMDM decided that we need a power hitting outfielder and another starting pitcher. Closers have a limited shelf life. Trading a closer for a relatively young power hitter isn't a bad deal. Neither is trading your 4th outfielder for a power arm to add to the starting rotation.

I liked both deals from a baseball standpoint. But I'd like to see DM replace that payroll. It's early so he probably will but this could be the year he actually is telling the truth crying poor

Still time to do that.

There are a lot of bats available who could help.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of Luis Valbuena.

I think he gives you everything Alvarez does offensively, and is a better baserunner and more versatile defender to boot.

What the ****? I just watched the 2014 World Series Film on mlb network - which should have been called "The 2014 SF Giants entire postseason run and requisite MadBum fellatio." Royals barely existed in the film. Maybe a half-dozen quick interviews. Deep coverage of every Giants series and no coverage whatsoever of the Royals run to the WS. Bochy, Sabean, Pence, MadBum, Morse and a bunch others got minutes of interview time. Not even one second of the Royals in the playoffs.

So now I'm watching the 2015 film, thinking cool at least I'll get to relive the Houston Series. NOPE. Starts with game 1 of the World Series. So far I think they've shown more Mets interviews than Royals. I can already tell Matt Harvey is going to dominate this entire film.

HEY MLB - GO FIST YOUSELVES

****ing bullshit

The MLB Films shots from ground level are pretty cool

More people want to see NY than KC. Sucks as a KC fan, but it's the reality of the business. Which is all MLB really is, an entertainment-providing business.

Yeah they didn't really do a great job with the World Series film. The Royals did make their own DVD, but I haven't seen it. I wouldn't be too shocked that the 2014 film focused on SF since they won. I thought it was weird that they didn't get into the Royals 2015 comebacks until way late in the movie.
