Rain Man, are you going to say, "That guy won't be as good as Jared Allen" after every pick this weekend?

The Jared Allen fiasco is over, and shall never be mentioned again unless for some reason I want to bring it up. However, I do expect some people to call up this thread in a couple of years and pay homage to my football acumen.

I voted "displeased enough to punch someone" although I think that is actually too mild a statement.

I'm pleased as punch, but it's mainly because I think it would have been insane for the Chiefs to give him the contract he eventually got, (that's assuming he'd have stayed here if they offered it, which I don't believe is the case) and I'm actually stunned at what Minny gave up for him. Has nothing to do with "risk".
We should field a roster about as talented as the Chargers by 2010 thanks in no small part to this trade. The challenge is, of course, picking the right guys with this absolute buffet of picks the franchise has. |

The only reason I'm don't want to punch someone is because I think JA had made his mind up that he wanted out. If he doesn't want to be here, it does no one any good to keep him. |

Moderately please. I like all the picks we have, but doubt Herm and Carl's ability to use them wisely.
And Allen is going to rape everyone in his path up north.

I would have picked "displeased enough to punch someone". However, with what we got for him, my acceptance that he wasn't staying, and my hope that if they fuck this up like I think they will Clark will give the Front Office a much needed colonic, I had no choice but to move to "More displeased than pleased".
That's only because there wasn't a "displeased and ready to remove Carl Peterson's eyeball and urinate profusely in the socket" option.

I told Jared not to get that 4th DUI.
But he didn't listen.

The Chiefs received three draft picks in return for a malcontent, two-time NFL policy offender. Personally, I think Jared Allen's impact was insanely over-rated and his 15 1/2 sacks meant just about as much to the TEAM as Eric Hick's 14 sacks in 2000. Nothing. |
