It's only a matter of time before Houston is caught trafficking drugs and Charles and Berry tear their ACL's again. And the last time there was a round 9 in the NFL draft 2 time Pro Bowler and Superbowl Champion Brad Johnson was drafted 3rd (#227 overall).

This. Joekel/Fisher would have to be Wille Roaf 3000 for such a trade to be a good thing.

Actually, now I'm starting to get worried about why Philly's line was so shitty last year

Hey, we gave SF two 2nd round picks for a former 1st round pick that didn't play very well. Why wouldn't another team be willing to give us two 2nd round picks for a former 1st round pick that actually does play well? After all a franchise LT is even more valuable than a franchise QB. This is a no-brainer. /Dorsey-Reid

Their line was shitty because Jason Peters went down in training camp.

They tried to replace him with king dunlap, who is beyond garbage.

Ohh come on. Cassel was worse than AIDS + The Holocaust, and even he managed a few good throws/drives/games. Try looking at the entire body of work....

Think about that for a minute.
Either way we're talking about 3 players: 1.1, 2.2, and Albert vs 1.1, 2.x, and Smith. So they basically traded Albert for Smith in a draft year where Albert is much easier to replace than it would be to find a substitute for Smith, at least in their opinion. And with Smith they have more of a chance to maximize the remaining careers of aging stars already on the roster. There is room for difference of opinion here but it doesn't look to me like the huge error some are claiming. There is a chance they're right. Even if they're wrong they probably feel like any potential setback is reduced because they believe they know what they have in Smith.

whoops. way to antagonize the ideologues here with common sense. don't you understand that reid and dorsey are stupid because they don't have the same newfound esteem for Brandon Albert that the GED warehouse here does?
