He was a 25-30 HR, .800 OPS guy all the way to the end, then just vanished.

Nah, I have to agree with Hootie on this one. Ned has an uncanny knack of leaving pitchers in too long. When you have shut down pitchers in the Pen like we do, let them start a clean inning. It's tough to come in with runners on in a 1 or 2 run game. If it's Ventura or Duffy or Volquez okay...but right now if it's Vargas or Guthrie, you can't let them face a team for a 3rd time. They are just getting curb stomped right now 3rd time through a lineup. I think they said last night that teams are hitting Vargas at a .600 clip the third time through.
