Is this a good fantasy baseball team?
The auto-draft just drafted my baseball team. 8 teams, all people I work with, $20 buy-in + $0.25 per transaction fee. Head 2 Head 5X5 scoring:
SPs: Randy Johnson, Jason Schmidt, Curt Schilling, Ben Sheets, Jake Peavy, RPs: Brad Lidge, John Smotlz, Latroy Hawkins, Mike Adams C: John Buck 1B: Jason Giambi, Rafael Palmeiro 2B: Alfonso Soriano 3B: Troy Glaus SS: Kazuro Matsui IF: Mike Sweeney OFs: Gary Sheffield, Maglio Ordonez, Corey Patterson, Lance Berkman, Luis Gonzalez, Preston Wilson, Carlos Lee I think I'm going to make some money! Giambi and Sweeney have big potential if they stay healthy. Buck might do alright and Hawkins and Adams are slated as their teams closers, my starting pitchers are RIDICULOUS! I can't believe I got 5 of the top 10 pitchers. I cant wait for baseball to start next week baby! |

An 8-team league and in a deep first base class the best you have is Giambi and Palmero?
That's rough. Matsui is an error machine and his back has been bothering him. Glaus is coming off a major injury. Your outfield looks solid when Berkman comes back. Your pitching staff is disgusting good. That should have you winning this league, if not you can trade 1 of them for a 1st basemen or 3rd.

ya 1B and SS are weak for me, but I guess I gave that up for the pitching, it was a auto-pick so I didn't have much control on that. There are usually a couple of surprise players each year at those positions to pick up on the waiver wire. I'm pretty confident though

on a side note, Glaus has been really hot this spring, I'm also lacking in steals. I'm going to have to do some free agent picking on that

ya I would do that for sure, Tejada is almost worth it alone for those 3. I had Tejada in my league last year and was great! |

Not to hijack the thread, but I also had an 8-man draft Sunday night.
I had the top pick, traded down to 5. I only picked up an extra 11 and gave up a 15, but I was going to take Santana if I stayed at 1. Here's my team (number in () is where I drafted them. SP- Santana (1), Mulder (8), AJ Burnett (13), Freddy Garcia (20) RP- Rivera (4), Hoffman (10), Dotel (12), Tom Gordon (16), Dannys Baez (19) 1st- Teixera (5), Derrick Lee (14) 2nd - Kent (9), Brian Roberts (21) 3rd- Rolen (2) SS- Renteria (6) C- Estrada (18), Lo Duca (22) LF- Bonds (11 - rolled the dice he comes back), Carlos Lee (7) CF- Juan Pierre (3) RF- Berkman (11), Aaron Rowand (17) Our defense is assigned by position - you have to play LF, CF, RF. How'd I do?
