Roster Updates (Watts and LDT to IR, Zombo signed)
The Chiefs announced a couple of significant roster moves Tuesday afternoon, placing starting guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif as well as reserve safety Armani Watts on injured reserve while signing veteran free agent outside linebacker Frank Zombo to the 53-man roster. The team also announced the movement of undrafted rookie linebacker Rob McCray to a designation of Practice Squad/Injured.

The move of Duvernay-Tardif to injured reserve doesn't come as a big surprise after he suffered a fractured fibula in Sunday's 30-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but placing Watts on injured reserve was unexpected and another unneeded blow to a safety position already decimated by injury. Watts, who was a fourth-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2018 NFL Draft, left Sunday's win over the Jaguars with a groin injury. Both players will be eligible to return off of injured reserve in eight weeks, although the Chiefs are only allowed by league rules to bring two players per season off injured reserve, and one of them could be safety Daniel Sorensen, who has been out since the preseason following knee surgery.

I'm so confused by his injuries. So he had the same issue with the other heel and that's what lead to the first tear?

Other heel. And no indication to this point anyway that the deformity contributed to the injury in the first heel. There are, however, suggestions that there's no way to 'heal' the condition in the presently sore foot short of effectively surgically tearing the other achilles.

Which is to say that this isn't an issue that's going to resolve itself...ever.

Berry is obviously not practicing again. I'm guessing he had a setback. Last Thursday he was reported as running to the side during practice and doing light exercises, but by Friday he was nowhere to be seen.
