4th down calls......

How do you turn the game over to a defense full of backups and who had not really done much since the first quarter?

Herm blows another one....didn't even give usa chance to win.

It was a serious let down that Herm did not go for it on 4th. Putting the game into the hands of a D who could not take down a player form a all-girls flag football team is just stupid.

As I said (word for word) in the game thread, I loved the call last week. I just expected him to go for it this game considering Gunther's defense couldn't stop Drew Brees' fart from gaining yards, much less his passes.

The call last week was out of necessity though, our defense was swiss cheese and would not have been able to stop the Offense again.

This time, it was just gutlessness.

Conservation in the 4th Q while you are down and 1-8 is unacceptable.

I hope this helps put one foot in the grave for Herm's job here at KC.

Even if we would have been up by 10, I say go for it.

They had better field position at other points in the game, and we couldn't stop them then, go for it and keep the #1 offense off the field.

A high school coach would have gone for it, and yet herm fuckin punted it.

If we went for that we might have won, which might ruin Herms draft. Herm can't have a good draft unless he picks at the top. He wants to look good by looking bad.

So true. Bradley catches that, it's a first down. But in a situation where that 3rd and 2 failed, you still have to go for it one way or another.

I love our receivers. But the dropsies are becoming an epidemic. Gonzalez and Bowe drop way too many passes, most of them on third down. ANd Bradley needs to come up with that.

This game was clearly lost on coaching, though, apart from that drop. I would have punted. I'm more disappointed that Gailey and Herm stuck with the shotgun on the 5-yard line. The playcalling within the 5 wsa atrocious. No reason to let a defense that bad stand you up on the goal line twice.

Herm blew it. The hardest part of coaching for him is figuring out who to blame for his own stoopidity.

Bradley dropped the ball on third down. That play was over. Now it's 4th ,and a decision must be made. The wrong decision was made.

Exactly. We score a TD on one of those possessions, we are going for the game winning TD on that last drive. We score on both and its a game winning FG. Either scenario changes the play calling dramatically.
