The rules:

In Round 1, I'm going to put up three randomly selected scenes from the nomination thread.

You'll vote for your ONE favorite scene among the three. The key here is FAVORITE. We're not talking about the 'best' or 'most powerful' or 'most meaningful'. We're talking about the scene that you most enjoy watching, however you define that.

The winners will move on. I'll also take the 10 highest-scoring second-place scenes and they'll advance as wild cards.

Some of our nominations did not include clips. This will be noted. If you find a clip, please post it and let me know so I can update it if it moves on.

Another really strong heat, in my opinion. My votes:

#1 - Inglorious Basterds. This scene really draws you in. I'm a big Brad Pitt fan in this movie, and everything about this scene works.

#2 - Napoleon Dynamite. I really like this scene and it's a very close #2. The only thing that moves it down my list is that it's almost too absurd. But in most heats it would still be my top choice.

#3 - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I've never seen the movie, but this seems like a scene that's chock full of interesting stuff. However, as I noted in a previous heat I think that drug hallucinations scenes are kind of easy to do, so this one scores high on style and execution, but low on difficulty.

Inglorious Basterds beats the c**p out of two strong contenders to move on. This scene may be a heavyweight.
