I always thoght the CHIEFS should go after Drew Brees. But with the season he's having this year, there will be much competition for his services.

I bet we draft Chang's WR, Chad Owens. He seems to be a Chiefs WR.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Sorry, but its the system.
I agree with this completely. I live in Hawaii and have been watching him play his entire career. The play the Run & Shoot offense, and that leads to a lot of yards, but it doesn't mean he would be successful in the NFL. It's the system. I think he is a good kid, but he is at best a backup in the NFL.

The NCAA passing record is great, but did it make Ty Detmer a great NFL QB?

I thought Ty Detmer's biggest problem was his inability to see above offensive linemen in the NFL, i.e. his was too short to be an NFL QB.

If this kid is really 6'2" (you know how they stretch the stats in college ball), he wouldn't have the same problem.

System QB or not, there is no harm using a very low second day pick or bringing him in as an undrafted FA to see if he has the goods.

Edit: If he can keep his INT/TD ratio at 1/5 (highly unlikely), he'll get drafted

oh brother, too short to see over the lineman huh? Considering the average height of an O lineman is like 6'5 you would be hard pressed to find many QB's to see over their entire line.

Linemen stand upright when they play?

The QB that Chang replaced at UH, Nick Rolovich, played as well as Chang (although he didn't play as many games so he didn't have the stats). He was signed by NE, iirc, as a free agent but went nowhere. IMO, from having watched them both play, he is as good as Chang, but he wasn't good enough for the NFL.

I wish I could say Chang was good enough to be our QBotF, because I'm a fan of his, and of UH, but I just don't think so.

Yep when pass blocking. They are also on the balls on their feet making them even taller.

Hey now. Danny Weurfell, Jesse Palmer, Doug Johnson have nothing on Chris Leak.

I think Grossman will turn out to be a good pro.

Leak is the real deal.

I hope Grossman can perform well once he gets back from injury.

As for Leak, I'm going to withhold my judgement until Spurrier coaches him for a year.

Hey.. I can dream, can't I....

If Spurrier comes back I expect Leak to have better numbers than Grossman during his sophomore season.

Not to hijack this thread, but the Leak's last four plays of the Miss State game were just plain awful. Awful decision making. I can only assume that is the result of bad coaching.

I'm sure Leak is hoping Spurrier comes back, he is generally considered a pretty darn good QB coach.

His decision making this whole season has been poor. He's been hesitant while in the pocket and he has at times stared down receivers. He actually looked better in some games last season, IMO. I think its coaching. The times when he has dropped back and just let it fly he's been on target and has made some big plays. I think he would thrive in Spurrier's system.

You would be better off planning your erotic night with Brittney Spears. It has a better chance of happening than the Chiefs drafting a QBotF.
