sup Zach. Ive been hearing on some news stations that China is one of the main reasons that our gas prices are going up. Appearantly there using a ton of oil over there or something like that. I know that this statement isnt detailed and sounds kind of rational, but its true and its not gonna get any better anytime soon. Gas is supposed to be around $3.00 a gallon by the middle/end of May.

Don't you remember the good ol days when we first got our liscenses and gas was only $1.10 a gallon. $20 bucks used to fill up my Probe (my first car). I have a Jeep now so obviously a bigger car/more gas, but it costs around $45.00 to fill my tank. It sucks.

Heres a good link: http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/p...ml/petbro.html Basically, increased demand from not only us, but the Far East and India are presently getting damn close to the supply capacity. Also, we haven't built a goddamn refinery in this country since 1978, IIRC. That's bad. Our refineries are almost always at or very near 100% capacity. Anyway, here's a breakdown of where your gasoline dollar goes:

Is there hope? Maybe some short term hope. In the long run, NO. There is no hope for a non-renewable resource like Oil. Until we develop more efficient forms of energy, and implement them in to affordable solutions, we are screwed. There is too much $$$ in oil right now to give it up and switch to something like hydrogen fuel cells.
