Who Is The Best?

a) Offensive Coordinator in the business right now? (Someone who could run the old DV/AS scheme, or put up serious numbers, I mean? Not that it matters at this point, of course.)

b) Defensive Coordinator in the business right now?

c) General thinker and big time strategist. (In football terms, that is.)

I'm not so much interested in availability but, rather, people I can focus on in terms of how they do things. Your wisdom and insight is, as usual, highly appreciated as I look forward to increasing my football knowledge exponentially as a result of your informed responses to this somewhat ignorant thread thing.

A) Martz. was born to be an O-coordinator.
B) Jim Johnson. I don't think this is even close
C) Bill Belichick. The dude shut down the 2001 Rams in the Super Bowl. That was the most amazing coaching job I've seen this side of Boise State.

A) I don't know if they're the best, but somebody needs to mention the team of Sean Payton and Doug Marrone in New Orleans. They've done a masterful job with that offense.

B) Personally, I love Jim Johnson. He's my favorite defensive coordinator.

C) Gotta be Belichick. His teams are just so well coached.

Good thread.

Martz (OC) Compared to him, every other OC is boring and conservative.

Dick LeBeau (DC) I like his attacking 3-4

Belichick (strategist) Forty years after he retires, people will be talking about him like they do about Lombardi now.

For an OC no one has mentioned Moore in Indy. He seems to be able to put an excellent O on the field.

Defense ... Baltimore's D seems to be great every year ... not sure it is the DC or the head coach.

C. Hank Stram was pretty good at this ... modern = Bill Belichick ... his teams always seem to be near the top every year.
