"The woman awoke to find a fully clothed Flora on top of her, Shea said. She tried to fight him off as he kissed her, fondled her breast and told her he loved her, Shea said.

Flora put the woman in a bear hug and tried to drag her out of the bedroom, apparently to kidnap her. But her screams awakened her 67-year-old mother, who scared off the intruder by firing a handgun shot into the floor and threatening to shoot him, Shea said.

"He thought better of it and took off," Shea said."

This is further proof of every study that's been done on the subject. When gun control laws are loosened, crime goes down. When gun control laws are tightened, crime goes up.

Simply another reason to vote against Al 'Gun control' Gore.

I'm against gun control. I don't care if they make it legal to buy a 50mm cannon at Wal-Mart.

It's the ammunition that I have a problem with!

Studies have been done by several independant sources Clint. Each of them have arrived at the same conclusion, gun control increases crime. Gun ownership reduces it. Those are facts and have been proven.

I'll assume Idaho Chief found this and it is true. If he's pulling our leg than so be it. The findings on the studies are still true and Gore's goal of gun confiscation is as well.

Look at the post, the story comes from APBnews.com. I simply cut and pasted the quote. If it isn't true then blame the media outlet. I take everything that they say with a grain of salt anyway. I simply posted this as an example of what surveys bear out: Law abiding citizens using guns for self defense reduce crime.

The same person demanding proof has no qualms about labeling Bush a cokehead, even though no proof has ever been found to support this. The closest thing to proof is the fact that Bush refuses to discuss the 'issue'. Yet this person doesn't label Gore a pothead even though Gore's admitted to use.

Hypocrisy is a wonderful thing.

Believe me, I'm no Gore supporter, either. It actually sickens me that Gore & Bush are being forced down our throats as the 2 most qualified men for the job. I just don't see how that's possible.

I agree with you there Clint. I think it's a function of what politics have become. There's [b]no way[/b] I'd run for office in the current climate.

Without hugely pressing issues on the docket, many people would rather run businesses, work at the local level, or simply be uninvolved before they'd submit themselves to the full body inspection that the media would provide. Paticualarly if the person is a conservative.
