When opponents go 3 WR, have Cooper and Smith handle the outside receivers, with Flowers in the slot.
Kind of the way I always felt about Arenas. Arenas just wasn't fast enough, in my opinion. Speed and height, was what he was short on...

Does anyone else think that, while he got burned, that Cruz pushed him off about halfway thru the route which is why he got so much seperation? Or is that just me?

No. He got separation because the safety that was supposed to provide coverage over the top didn't show. I can't possibly know that for sure, but Robinson played it as if he had underneath responsibility, and I refuse to believe that we would match up Dunta wide on Cruz without Safety help.

After seeing it a short while ago on my first re-watch, I'd say no to a push off. We usually see more handfighting that doesn't get called. That one left arm extension from Cruz would have been called maybe 1 time out of 10. It just wasn't enough to throw a flag on, and I'd have been furious with the refs if that gets flagged on a KC corner.

Exactly this. It's the kind of "push off" that happens on virtually every long route. A CB with closing speed could have made up for it. Duanta has lost several steps and has no closing speed and just flat out got beat. He's nowhere near the player he was in Houston since his injury. He's not even the player he was in Atlanta last year. When a CB "loses it" it often happens quickly. He can't cover anyone with speed. He is a liability in any type of man coverage on the outside.

As to the safety coverage? The other safety was playing deep over the top of the WR/CB on the other side of the field, but Eric Berry's movement throughout was completely not consistent with a cover 2 call. Berry was playing the inside all the way. Dunta was playing man all the way, so it wasn't a cover 2 zone.

Yeah. If by "a safety was supposed to help on Cruz" you mean "a safety was supposed to come over and do all the work in covering Cruz" then that statement is accurate.

Robinson wasn't doing the primary job on Cruz AT ALL. What he did could hardly be called "coverage," so if it's Berry's or Lewis's fault that they didn't help out on Cruz, it's also probably their fault that Cruz scores on them anyway.

"Help" coverage ain't gonna do shit with the way Robinson was absolutely ****ing worthless.

It's Robinson's fault. Get this "Berry was supposed to help" bullshit out of here. I don't want to hear it.

Dunta had a bad game. The completed passes in the 2nd half were always to Dunta's man.

I believe at some point during the season he is going to make a positive impact play like a big hit or pick that will erase the badness of this game.

Let's hope. It's at the point now where he is being targeted. He is NOTHING like he used to be...
