Didn't think about that.
If you look at him at the end, he's dressed like a goddamned hobo. Stained undershirt, unkempt hair. He wasn't wearing $3000 suits even when flush with cash, but his state of dress and the car he drives suggests that he's lost essentially all his money, so it could also be an issue of finances. He doesn't need that to evade detection, so it could be a symbolic message about how his world has fallen apart, an allusion to his financial collapse, or a combination of the two.

Given the foreshadowing, you wonder how Walt would react if everyone he ever loved gets taken away from him. If holly is doomed. If Skyler and Jesse, two people he has a love/hate for. Walt has had everything taken away from him. His empire. Most of his money. The last thing he has left is the remnants of family and friends.

I don't think that he blew his money.....I think he probably put it away for Skyler and the kids as a last ditch apology for what he's done.

And seriously.....that look on Walt's face when Holly started saying Mama.....that was tough man. You couldn't help but feel bad for the guy.

Also possible that he can't pursue treatment since he's in hiding with a new identity.

I'd imagine it's significantly harder to create a new, legit SS than to forge medical records.

That's possible. He could also store away 1% of that away for normal living, but either way, lost isn't the same as blew.

I think you only lose your hair if you're on chemo. So he could have stopped treatment voluntarily, or he might have reached a point where the docs said chemo wouldn't help anymore.

So my obvious thought for the last two episodes would be that the Aryans are forcing Jesse to cook for them.....Walt comes back to rescue Jesse (hence the gun).....saves Jesse and then takes the ricin killing himself.

Why would you subject yourself to a slow, painful death via poisoning when you could shoot yourself in the head?

yeah, Jesse isn't killing Walt. First of all, he's currently being held captive with fairly little chance of escape. In the unlikely event that he gets out, it will be Walt saving him.

On the topic of hair, Walt has not been receiving chemo and probably won't; he's ready to die (or the cancer never returned.)

If Walt has indeed reached the end, what's the point of the writers having Jesse kill a man who is already dead? There's no gratification for Jesse or the audience in that.

Oh right, it's an opportunity for flashbacks!!!!!!!

I think the reason the writers had Walt tell Jesse that he watched Jane die and deliberately did not save her was to provide the proper motivation for Jesse to kill Walt. If Jesse ever got the drop on Walt before that, Walt could have talked his way out of it by pointing out that Brock is alive and well. But there's no way Walt could possibly talk Jesse out of killing him now. All Jesse needs is the opportunity. If he wasn't already highly motivated to kill Walt, he sure as hell is now.

Why else have Walt confess that? Just to make him look spiteful?

The fact that Jesse is currently being held captive by Jack's gang is not an insurmountable problem. This is a TV show, after all.
