Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

I guess something just 'clicked' after all the miserable / failed 20 second Helicopter excusions lol.

I wonder if EA removed the k/d stat, if it would encourage others to play more as a team? I mean, still get points for the kill etc, but not seeing the k/d at the end of the match.

fun playing in a platoon last night for the first time. It's nice to play with a team who knows what they're doing. lol.

although, I had never really played Rush before so I was sort of confused on what I needed to do. I understand the concept of it, but I wasn't sure if I was attacking or defending. I just stuck with one of my squad mates as much as I could. Really fun though. Except for some reason a few times after a round, I was switched onto the opposite team. Oh well. I'll give Rush more of a chance - it was pretty fun. Although, some of the maps looked like there were additional sections of the map opened up as compared to Conquest.

So, maybe I'm doing something wrong but....

the last few weeks, it seems it takes me 15+ rounds/bullets to kill somone. like, I'll shoot a dude who's running away from me, and I'll get a hit marker, and he'll turn around and shoot me.....while I'm still getting hit markers on him. Is this a lag issue? Or does he have some sort of goody/gadget that is protecting him more than me? Keep in mind, this isn't at long range at all / or outside of limits of a particular weapon.

It's getting super frustrating lately

Are you using a silencer or small bullet? Maybe they are using the armor upgrade.

Yeah, i thought that too (silencer/small round etc). So I've tried multiple weapons and configurations. Silenced, LMG 7.62, MP 45, etc. All seem to have relatively the same issue.

I'll play around with the armor thing...I think it's called "Flak"?

I'm also going to try to focus heavily on head shots when possible. It doesn't seem to be as big an issue at longer ranges, but really bites me in the behind when I pop a guy (NTTAWWT) at like 50 yards, and it only seems to irriate him, and he turns around and destroys me.

I think I'm going to browse the servers and only filter on U.S. servers. Perhaps that'll help. I haven't checked, but i wouldn't be surprised if on the games where I was having trouble with the number of rounds to take down an opponent, was a result of being on a server super far away etc.

I'll give it a go, and see if I notice a sizeable difference etc.
