The video for "Alejandro" came out today. And really, it is totally NOT SAFE FOR WORK. The amount of stark sexuality in this video is totally inappropriate for work and will likely disgust a decent portion of the people who watch this 9 minute, very German, very harsh music video.



It is going to take me a while to think this whole video through; there's a lot going on about the nature of sexuality. I can't wait to see the scholarship that comes out of it.

Though I did think the machine gun bra was pretty sweet.

Also, the Moe haircuts were a strange touch.

I disagree. I've hated most of the other videos. Telephone was a waste of 9 minutes.

Here, I was intrigued. And aside from the sexual middle part, which I felt was random and unfitting, the video was engaging.

I have to side with Reaper, I'm wondering what commentary comes about from this.


Also, there are people that seriously can't see the German-ness of the video? I'm calling Poe's Law on Useful Idiot.

GaGa has stated that one aspect of this video is the "purity of my friendships with my gay friends, and how I've been unable to find that with a straight man in my life. It's a celebration and an admiration of gay love—it confesses my envy of the courage and bravery they require to be together. In the video I'm pining for the love of my gay friends—but they just don't want me to be with them."

Lady GaGa wants to pose naked for Playboy, it has been claimed.

According to Heat, the singer will go ahead with the shoot despite opposition from her friends and crew, including stylist Nicola Formichetti.

A source said: "No-one wants her to do it. Her business people are trying to convince her that it could be seen as being a bit lowbrow and cheesy, and will alienate her fans who like her edgy appeal.

"She thinks it will be an experience, and she's always looking to grow as an artist. She doesn't think there's anything distasteful about it. She sees it as just another form of expression."

The source added: "She's been chatting with everyone about it all week. She's always been a fan of Hugh Hefner's, and his whole sex-as-art kind of thing.

"She's always looking to shock and entertain, and something like this would be perfect for her. She wants her shoot to be like nothing Playboy has every seen before. If she doesn't drop it, her nude shoot will be like nothing Playboy has ever seen!"

Last year, GaGa turned down an offer to pose for the magazine but also quipped: "I might change my mind when I have a new album to plug."

I'd like to see you go further into that argument, which may have merit. If I understand you correctly you see the video's imagery as not having a cohesive artistic purpose; that the video is composed of a hodgepodge of striking images that don't come together to say anything?
