R32 I tink is around 270hp v6. Something like that.

Low miles ones can be had for probably 20kish I would think

Probably the top 3 I would go for considering your criteria, I believe all have been on Car and Drivers 10 best (possibly not the Fiesta, but most are raving about the new ST.)

CRZ takes about 9-10 seconds 0-60, blah suspension and Chasis, and only 2 seats. Boring to drive hybrid that just looks like it has sporting pretensions.

Dude, if you can survive a little longer, VW, is about to roll out the latest generation GTI, which for all intents and purposes is an Audi A3. It looks stunning and cranks out even more power, and has the best combo of chasis/suspension they have made yet.

My Cutlass is no 1000hp monster, but im around ~500 and I can put a dollar bill on the dash, and I will say if you can grab it before I get into 3rd you can have it (pretty funny). That baby cranks out some G's.

When my brother was running his blower with drag radials, I remember my vision going into a gray out sort of thing under hard acceleration.

No offense but you're kinda doing this backwards. You said you want to autoX, what class do you want to run in? Street prepared, stock, modified, etc? Also do you want to be competitive?

Look at the 2013 stock classifications and see which cars are in which class and what you want to run in. i.e.

Then if you're still deciding you can ask people what they think of the cars you're looking at.

I would most certainly be running in a stock class. Also, the purpose of a race is to come in first... no? Of course I want to be competitive! lol

Honestly I've been too far out of Autocross to be up to date(I still own my S2K though), but the reason I ask is that some classes are dominated by one type of car or not and if you want to be competitive in that class you want to look at that type of car. It depends upon how serious your local is 'cause it may not matter as much.

I'm sure the BRZ/FRS is really popular I just don't know how much of a pain is is to get one since they are popular overall. Unfortunately we have a real dearth of new 'sports' cars lately. If you want new the selections might be a bit thin.

One other point to everyone else. For autocross, raw power isn't always the best. Some of the best autoX cars are quick and well balanced but may not have a ton of raw power.

Take the GTO mentioned earlier, I like the car and think it can be made into a pretty decent track car but for autocross I don't think it works...too heavy even with the fun power.

That said the GTO is coming back...it's the Holden, and it's coming back as the Chevy SS.
