Many people I know around here are all caught up in snowmaggedon '13. We did and are getting dumped on pretty good but still... it's getting ridiculous.

If you're dealing with the worst snowstorm in the history of mankind, i.e. if you're in the midwest and have a bunch of panicy friends... please check in here and let us know you're still alive. Maybe include an update of just how alive you are. At home safe alive...stuck at work alive... in a ditch alive... bleeding from at least 4 orifaces after the accident and the nurse has cold damn hands alive... those will work. Let me/us know how much concern we should have or if a prayer thread may be in order.

If you aren't alive please don't feel the need to respond. We'll just assume.

anyways so much for the farther north of kc the more snow you'll get theory. too much blowing to really tell but if we got 6" so far that be pushin it. still coming down though.

I'm exhausted.

I watched the double-overtime KU game in Stillwater, but I absolutely had to be back in DSM if at all possible for work Friday. I was originally going to chill with family halfway back and drive up the rest of the way Thursday night, but because of this damned forecast it looked obvious to me that I had to drive straight home from the middle of Oklahoma.

I would have completely beaten the storm if the game hadn't gone to double-overtime, got caught in a blizzard in Ft. Scott, and had to drive really slow from there to about Iowa. Driving in KC really sucked. Overall, it was about 13 hours of driving, almost all of it white-out snow covered road winter driving. If I had waited just a few more hours though, I probably wouldn't have gotten through.

Well that was an adventure. Took blankets and pillows to the 2 people stranded at work and got stuck at the opening to the work driveway. 6 cops and 2 employees pushing later I'm back home and they will be warm. Hope I can get in easier by morning....

Alive. I did have to drive home from work, unfortunately. Instead of taking the interstate home, which I normally take, I decided to take the backroads, mostly city roads. 2 hour drive, but the good thing is, I didn't get hit in a major traffic jam area, which is happening around I-29.

Plus, I like driving in the backroads, where it's more controlled than a freeway, but that's my opinion.
