Why does anyone expect Reid to come out and start listing off his coaches and GM? I wouldn't expect anything other than him saying "hi" and then doing coach talk for 30 mins.

A competent journalist would ask those questions, repeatedly, until they were answered.

Reid's gonna have a grand ol' time in Kansas City away from Philadelphia journalists. Press conferences will be a joy for him.

The sad part is, she could ask that, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Isn't it possible that Reid doesn't even have his coaches lined up yet? He could still be in the process of talking with Childress/Shurmur/Pederson. If that's the case, he has nothing to say.

Very possible. Could still ask if he's setting up interviews for coaches/GM(s), etc. Every other team is announcing their GM interviews (NYJ/Cle/SD/Jax).

I agree with that. They should, and will ask. I just think it's a bit much to expect Reid to come out and say anything regarding guys who aren't currently part of the team.

Ever listen to an Andy Reid presser?

Ask those questions for 3 hours if you want, he's not going to give you an answer and ultimately you're just going to look like a raging prick to the brand new head coach.

A competent journalist would recognize this as what it is.

I hope it's Dorsey. I've read nothing but good things about the guy, and I think Reid would defer to him. I have no doubts about Reid's coaching ability, but I do have a little fear of his recent personnel moves.

My fear is that he is 'burnt out' and still needs to thoroughly grieve his son's death. I love the hire and will be rooting for him

Dorsey hasn't been picked to visit any other teams yet. Apparently he's a hot commodity, yet no one wants him?

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and say he'll be KC's GM

He's apparently very particular about who he interviews with and what the job entails. He is very loyal to the Packers.

I've heard though that he won't take this job unless he's provided with some actual power on the personnel side, so it will be interesting to see how they work that out. If Reid truly is willing to put his trust in Dorsey and work hand in hand with him, and if they are both reporting to Clark, that would be a great scenario, because it prevents Reid from making blind personnel decisions unchallenged, which would be dangerous. But we'll see.

Dorsey sounds great on paper. Ron Wolf and Ted Thompson disciple. I would have serious concerns about putting him in charge of a franchise, because as I stated after the whole ***** experience, I don't trust guys anymore who stay in one place for so long in a lesser role and turn down opportunities to move up, because at some level I wonder if that means that they are just too comfortable in where they are and too comfortable in their existing role and don't really have a clear plan as to what they would do if given the reigns to a franchise. That's why I wonder if DeCosta would do well elsewhere.

But with Reid essentially being the face of the franchise, it allows Dorsey to basically come in and roll up his sleeves and go to work identifying players. And by all accounts he has a much more open and less arrogant personality than *****. So I have hope that this would be a good fit...
