Starting OL at practice today.

LT: Stephenson
LG: Allen
C: Hudson
RG: Asamoah
RT: Schwartz

Veeeeery interesting. Allen is the incumbent at LG, and is unlikely to move to tackle. Hudson seems to be fine. Schwartz will indeed be used at tackle if he has to be.

And Albert is the only Chief not at practice.

Here's a fun game: guess the only Chief who showed up today but was too banged up to practice.

Hint: it's exactly who you think it is.

Par for the course.

If Marty was the coach this guy would be gone. If he wouldn't have made that one TD catch against the Niners... How much time did that buy him?

He's averaged 500 yards per season. That's good enough to keep him around.

Practice is over. A couple of notes: Chiefs later shuffled OL and lined up this way left to right . . .

Adam Teicher ‏@adamteicher 37s

Stephenson, Schwartz, Hudson, Asamoah, Allen. Remember that Allen played tackle in college at Illinois. Hudson looked fine, BTW

Akeem Jordan was the starting ILB with Derrick Johnson. Poe and Tyson Jackson were the inside pass rushers in the nickel.

Unsurprising, mostly.

Kinda weird they're playing TJ like a 3-downer, though. That nickel passrush is Bailey's specialty.

Dude, it's ****ing PRACTICE. The coaches are trying to get a feel for their players in a new scheme.

This.

Bailey is going to get plenty of opportunities to prove he's a capable 3tech before the season starts.

Who seriously regressed at that aspect. That's what is concerning to me about Bailey. I thought that having Poe playing a shaded 1 would really free Bailey up 1-1 on RGs and allow him to grow from his productivity in subs in 2011.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

Tyson Jackson was a 3 down player in the nickel all last season

you act like this is going to change, like they brought in any pass rushing d-lineman. like Mike Devito is going to be rushing the passer in the nickel, funny joke there.

There is no competition on the d-line for pass rush formations and thus one of the turds is going to get to play by default. Unless they shock the world in round 1 and take one of those big turds, which I doubt.

To be fair, Poe wasn't really double teamed with any frequency last year. OLs simply did not respect him.
