Does anybody know how to turn off that damn click sound?????

On internet explorer? Everytime I click on a link it makes an annoying double click sound, I could just turn off my speakers but I like to listen to music while I surf sometimes and it's pretty damn annoying. I went into internet options and see nothing. I turned off play sounds in webpages under advanced options, but it did not solve my problem. Anybody know? I'll rep the shit out of you if you can help me, it's driving me crazy

Tada.
Oh God I hate that sound. If I am around anyone and I notice that their computer is making that click sound, I have to fix it for them. It drives me up the wall.

While I agree that he should switch to FF, that doesn't answer his question.

I've never heard a click sound in FF when clicking on something....unless I turned it off a long time ago.

I must have turned it off and don't remember it. Which isn't saying much - I can't remember anything past an hour ago.

Go to control panel and open "Sounds and Audio devices". Open the "sounds" tab and scroll down to "start navigation" under the "Program events".
Make sure it says "none" under "Sounds" at the bottom.

I think that should do it.
