Bomb Exploded at Boston Marathon Finish Line
I've heard an unconfirmed report (a co-worker's girlfriend called him) that there was a bomb at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, with people injured. I am hearing multiple sirens, though I'm not in the Copley area.

Nothing trumps the desire of politicians to be re-elected. The GOP is going to have a very hard time surviving, long-term, if they alienate latinos.

The people did not rise up against immigration after 9/11, they sure as hell won't now.

Good point. After 9/11 the shift did focus more on Homeland Security.

We will negotiate with anyone at time of need, giving into their requests may be another thing. Negotiating to gain leverage or apprehend the person is not uncuth.

I watched a movie once where they kept the bad guy busy negotiating with him at the front door while the other cop snuck in from the back and captured him.
