Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

If people post something as a FACT that is inside info and it turns out to be wrong, they have to expect somebody to call them on it. If its a rumor, post it as that and there aren't any problems. Also, don't go all "I know something you don't know" and then refuse to tell anyone...you can't do that and not expect a reaction of some sort.

lots of whining in this thread....probably just because we're all antsy in the pantsy for the offseason, the best part of the 2012 Chiefs football season.

And this is actually sad because it means we 'still' haven't built sh** since the 2003-05 run and we didn't build the defense enough in that era either because if we had we would be SB champions by now.

it's a bad sign if Romeo is the only one fired, that means Pioli probably did it and he is still making decisions around here.

This is really making me nervous. This firing is out of order. Pioli should have gone first. There's no logical reason to do the other way around.

Yep, everyone seems too busy piling on Zach to notice this.

The first thing I thought of was "who fired Romeo?"

Agreed. If both were going we would have heard about it like we did with the Browns. The only two explanations are that either Pioli has been retained (which either means he had already signed that extension back in the day or has just been given an extension, because there is no way you retain him with one year left on his deal and expect him to hire anyone else) or that Clark is still mulling it over but saw no reason to drag out Romeo's fate much longer because he was gone either way.

There's a lot of smoke around Pioli being retained, so I'm guessing that's what we will hear today. Which means with a new coaching hire, barring another 4-12 or worse season, we have at least two more years of Pioli...

I'm afraid you are right but I hope not. One thing we will find out about this is how committed to winning the Hunts are.

Or as I suspect, we'll have further confirmation of just how uncommitted to winning the Hunt family is.
