Are you in Win10?
If so are you all the way updated? By all the way updated, does this include the Anniversary Update [v.1607]? As MS continues to update its Win10 OS, it's getting more and more problems with 2ndary drives being recognized. I had a thread on it a couple months back. I had to roll back from 1607 to 1511 and wait for MS to fix the problem because I lost my 3 TB external drive otherwise [it was fine, just not recognized]. Still waiting on a fix.

Check that there isn't seeing selected on the drive that lets Windows power down the device when not in use (device manager)

I replaced the Sata cable and moved the sata cable into a different port. Works fine now.
Also, before it was taking me 3-4 min to boot off of an SSD, now its back to 30 sec. I think somehow it was trying to boot to the bad SSD first, even though it didn't even show up in the BIOS. All good now, thanks for the help. |
