I think that drop Kennedy did on Orton was the last straw. After going back and looking at the video I remember Orton really selling that it hurt when in fact he it did and he was pissed as hell.

I guess they wanted to give Jeff another bone but still weren't ready to trust him, but if they wanted to keep Punk face why couldn't they have just let Edge retain?
