Grade my team

I think we have had a thread for this in the past.. so feel free to post your own team below.

I just drafted last night in my 14-team, 1/2 ppr league. Return yards count for the individual and the flex position also can be a QB. Our league used to have six points for passing td's, but returned it to four points a couple years ago. Despite that, QBs go off the board way to soon. In fact, eleven were taken in the first round and five in the second round.

My strategy was to wait on QB and load up on other positions, as I picked seventh.

Team is below. The number in parenthesis is my ranking of these players within their positional groups (didn't combine them into one board), just for general interest.

1 - Jamaal Charles - KC RB (1)
2 - Antonio Brown - Pit WR (1)
3 - Teddy Bridgewater - Min QB (18)
4 - C.J. Spiller - NO RB (8) - due to return yards
5 - Latavius Murray - Oak RB (14)
6 - DaVante Adams - GB WR (10)
7 - Blake Bortles - Jax QB (23)
8 - Darren Sproles - Phi RB (25) - I think he will get return yards in the regular season
9 - Percy Harvin - Buf WR (17) - due to return yards
10 - Denard Robinson - Jax RB (40)
11 - Leonard Hankerson - Atl WR (42)
12 - Brian Quick - StL WR (44)
13 - Charles Clay - Buf TE (10)
14 - Chiefs D (14)
15 - Brandon McManus - Den K (2)

I think I regret the Percy Harvin pick already. Beckham was taken two picks before I took Bridgewater, and I think I paniced on QB a bit, although I do like Teddy.

If I had know Bortles would drop into the 7th, I think I would have taken another top-tier WR, but most were scooped up, and I wasn't feeling Demaryius Thomas.

I had my draft earlier today and ended up being slotted with the 4th pick.

Le'veon Bell went #1 and the #2 pick was Eddie Lacy. So I'm sitting there thinking "Cool. I'll either get AP or JC, whoever 'TruePatriot' doesn't pick". Then buddy picks Gronk at #3 So I had to choose between ol' Jaymaal and Adrian. I decided to go with AP since I figure he'll get about 100 more touches than Charles and no one will be stealing his goal-line carries.

Solid.. very solid.

It is interesting how many of us have the Chiefs D. I do too. But, now I am looking at week 2 and 3 and thinking I will already have to start streaming defenses. We are facing two of the most potent offenses on those weeks.

That looks like a solid roster. Knile and Percy return kicks, but in that format I usually like to grab someone like CJ Spiller who adds return yards at the RB position. Knile Davis does that too though. At one point last year, I started Charles and Davis when my other RBs were on a bye. Return yards adds a nice change to the league.. really elevates alot of WRs. In that format, I think TE should be a pretty big drafting focus since you can't get phantom return yards from that position (despite my recent drafting history in my league) and grabbing Kelce is big.

I wish we had an IR slot in my league.

Thanks

I love the IR spot. Allows you to deal with injuries, or early in the season grab a guy and sit on him. Agree about Spiller, could have grabbed him instead of Murray, but really thought he was going to make it back to me. My brother nabbed him. Wanted Murray because I wanted a guy who I thought would get the opportunity to pound the rock.

Really like my WRs, especially after Bryant returns. If I need anything it's some RB depth.

Had two drafts back to back Sat and by the time the 2nd one started I was feeling no pain.Had the 9th pick in a 10 man 6pt all td's non ppr and I clearly remember my first four picks of Julio,Beckham,Cooks and Brees after that it gets a little fuzzy but here is the team

Brees
Bridgewater

Doug Martin
chris Ivory
Ameer Abdullah
CJ Spiller

Julio
Beckham
Cooks
Ed Royal
Chris Conley
Ty Mongomery

Martellus bennett
josh Hill

Rams
Lions

B Macmanus
D Carpenter

BTW,this league requires that we carry 2 D's and 2 kickers and except for one flex everyone has the same amount of roster spots

Interesting strategy.. I would have gone RB by round 3 personally. Your RBs ended up pretty weak. For a non-PPR it doesn't make much sense to go WR-WR-WR, although I can see how Beckham was attractive in the second.

Been playing FF for 20+ years and anytime I have a pick 9-10 or 11-12 I've always gone wr,wr.Hell back in '99 I took Moss and Holt and scored points at will and won the championship and cash.

My personal opinion especially these last few years is too much emphasis is put on rb's.It really depends on the scoring of each league.

That said my first draft on Sat I picked 4th out of 12 in a ppr and .5 rb touch league and went with Lacy.

Sorry I should have also mentioned we get double and triple bonus on td's over 40 and over 80,thus my reasoning on the wr's and qb with first 4 picks.

Actually it's 9 and 12 so it's a 50% bump

i.e with my group an 82 yd td to Cooks would be 20.2 for Cooks and approximately 15 for Brees

Damn.. interesting scoring. Yeah, that would put more emphasis on WRs for sure.
