Which is hilarious because didn't he suggest to Dimitroff that he should trade up for Julio Jones so that Baldwin would be there for him. I heard that somewhere. Outsmarting himself.

It's really that simple.
The guy has great size, great straight line speed and great leaping ability. Why the previous coaching regimes were asking him to make quick cuts is just beyond me. With a guy that big, the laws of physics tends to indicate that it simply won't happen.

You want a deep threat? Send him long and just have ASmith chuck him the ball. If he catches a couple of those types of passes early in the season, defenses will have to respect it and adjust their defensive plans accordingly- opening up the underneath for everyone else.

Well, the issue with that is that he can't get off the line fast enough to give Alex time to throw downfield to him. While he is fast, he has a delayed start every time because he can't beat the press.

We could march down the field for entire drives just throwing 10 yard sideline passes real high to him.

Unfortunately he's a one trick pony, but we aren't using his trick.

By all accounts, Baldwin is a physical blocker; there shouldn't be any reason why he isn't beating the press by being a bit physical himself. Line him up a step or two behind the line so he gets a little momentum and have him physically beat the crap out of the DB as he starts his route. All this "juking" and/or playing pattycake crap we saw with the old regime needs to go. Reid loves him some big WRs because they can be physical at the line of scrimmage and match up well against smaller DBs.

Its really just that simple 'cept for the force-out rule where the defender has the option letting the receiver catch the ball & then shoving him out of bounds. Unless he kinda carries the receiver out of bounds - then its a catch. But you knew that.

Pioli also picked Eric Berry and Justin Houston. Not to mention the young olinemen we have. I had us picking Baldwin, he can't shine with the likes of Cassel.

For all the shit we give Baldwin for getting zero separation, he actually is an outstanding blocker. Go back and look at some of Jamaal's long runs. You'll see Baldwin driving his guy downfield Blindside style.

He just completely sucks as a... you know... receiver. Then again, maybe Cassel was just a shitty deliverer. We'll see, but I say Baldwin and Moeaki are gone before the regular season starts, if I had to bet on it. Outside of Alex Smith, there is not one player I'd rather see turn into a pro bowler this year than Baldwin. It would fix so many ****ing problems and make Bowe unstoppable.

Could you imagine what we would do if we had 2 WRs that commanded double teams? Whether you then went with a 2 TE or 3WR set, the yards would come in bunches. Beside the passing opportunities, Jamaal Charles would run completely free.....
