QB's to watch this year?

Who are the top QB's I need to watch on Saturday with the full understanding there's a <0% chance they'll end up playing football in Kansas City more than once a year?

It depends on who gets the first pick. Jags for example wouldn't take a QB IMO with Bortles only being in year 3.

I think Goff will be the first QB off the board. Chicago and Houston will be our competition in the race to draft a QB

The Chiefs wont have any competition for drafting a QB because they wont be in the market for one. We've got Alex Smith for Christ sake! We'll also need some kind of offensive lineman and a LB to replace Hali/DJ.

I know we say this all the time, but if they go that route, you can rest assured that the Chiefs care nothing for being anything other than a middling, pud-pulling franchise.

They have no reason to be. 8-8 is more than enough to cover expenses and fatten the bank account handsomely.

It's not a good QB class. Wentz offers a nice mix of size, athleticism and arm strength. He's got to improve on his ability to read a defense (just doesn't have to do it at the level he's playing at right now due to his arm and athleticism), but he's probably got better tools than anyone other than Hackenberg, and like I said, Hackenberg might be permanently ruined due to poor development the last three years. He's going to have to take a couple of years of holding a clip board before you really know what you have in him.

Like I said, Lynch at Memphis is a redshirt junior, and if he keeps them winning, he'll start to get the attention of the scouts and national pundits and move up and might consider entering the draft.

It's really not a very good nor deep QB class in 2016.

If you want to see two really good potential QB's, watch the BYU-Cincy football game this coming Saturday.

Taylor Mangum of BYU and Hayden Moore of Cincy are both excellent freshman QB's who are filling in for highly touted upperclassmen and who are actually outperforming them at this point. (If you didn't catch the Memphis-Cincy game two weeks ago, you missed an amazing QB battle, and Mangum has pulled out miracle victories two weeks in a row prior to the Michigan game.)
Where's Chuckie Keaton?

And 6 1st round OL. Well ones that pan out.

If we aren't going the QB route (which God knows we probably won't).....then I want Jaylon Smith in the 1st.

Bortles is jag. The Jags are definitely a threat to take a top tier QB.

Toughest son of a bitch I've ever seen play (go watch the Utah/Utah State game from this season if you doubt this), but his knee is done. Shame, because I think he had real potential before the first injury, but he'll never play at the professional level at this point.

Isn't it ironic that the toughest son of a bitch you've ever seen is now broke after just 3+ years of college?

Dude has some question marks.

If you are drafting on elite tools to develop, Hackenberg is the best option this next year for the position. (However, he's absolutely stalled in terms of his understanding of the game.)

You want a guy who is a relative dark horse right now, but will be really moving up by the end of the season?

Carson Wentz, North Dakota State; 6'5", 225 lb.

Pretty good athlete with a huge arm who has absolutely dominated the FCS level. Literally, he is a man amongst boys at this level.

Excellent on the move, and has numerous 100 yard rushing games to go along with a big and accurate arm.

IMO, a similar prospect to Joe Flacco at the same level with better athleticism. Could potentially end up as a first rounder like Flacco due to a 2016 QB class that's comprised at the top of a bunch of guys who have legitimate question marks about their game (Cook, Goff, Hackenberg). (Also, Goff, Hackenberg and Cardale Jones are juniors and might or might not declare.)

Also, keep an eye on Memphis 6'6", 230 lb. redshirt junior QB Paxton Lynch, who has the Tigers at 4-0 and has four straight 300 yard games with no interceptions in 2015.
NDSU not NDS difference of about 70 miles. NDSU is Fargo, NDS is Grand Forks.
