Unsung heroes of 5-0

Ryan Succop. 10 for 12 this year, and one of them was blocked.

Akeem Jordan. Quietly beasting at the other ILB spot. Does not own any guns, either.

Tyson Jackson. No one can run on us. This is a Super Bowl caliber run defense and he's a key cog.

Quentin Demps. Two INT, and I think he's going to put Kendrick Lewis on the bench by the end of the year.

Agreed.

But I am in fact talking about the entire team. The offense and the defense.

I still think both have plenty of room for improvement.

EDIT: Thought we were talking about one of your following post I responded to.

FAIL.
I said 30-35 times a game, and that 3800 yards would be a great season for him,

I think the difference in yards so far is more of a matter of the number of throws, though. I did not expect 37 attempts/game. He's on pace for nearly 600 attempts.

I also expected a better completion percentage, well north of 60%. Hopefully that picks up. If it does, that's when we'll start seeing more sustained drives and TDs instead of FGs. (Not saying it's specifically his fault or anything like that; it's a product of system, blocking, receivers, and him). That'll help boost his yardage numbers as well (better average, etc), get him out of the bottom third of the league.

This thread is about the Chiefs being 5-0.

Raise a cool one with me and toast our success, brother Dane!

If he doesn't, this defense will go to waste.

Reality: Avery is the Chiefs best receiver. Breaston is out of the NFL.

There is room for improvement, but there's much, much less as far as the defense goes. We're talking about them cleaning up a handful of bad plays in an otherwise dominant weekly performance, whereas with the offense we're talking about a unit that basically treads water for 3/4 of the game. Huge difference there...

Today's game paints a picture of how one-sided our team really is right now. The defense has one bad quarter and the game gets ugly.

I think that's too much pressure to put on one side of the ball. They can't be perfect every down every week, they're going to have breakdowns. The offense needs to pick up a bit so there's a little margin for error.

Also so I don't develop ulcers.

I also expected a better comp% and this game did not help, as he was 60+ before this game and was WAY off the mark all day.
Missed some wide open guys.
BUT Reid seems to be getting him to look more down field and it really looks like the O is a work in progress with a ton of potential. Its exciting.
And Like Clay says, thankfully the D came out of the gate with a head of steam, and Smith and the O have time to get better.
Hopefully by week 10 we are healthy, and hitting on all cylinders.

The balls.

Your shtick was predicted months ago, and yet you persisted until all contrary evidence loomed over you like a pending avalanche.

Now you persist in phase two 'yeah, we're winning. forget I derided anyone and everyone who said that was possible, isn't this fun?'

Classless douche. Ya ought to be be cleansing vaginas somewhere on the lower Ganges.

I think the unsung heroes are the Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers. These teams gave us the pieces we needed to help achieve this. I commend Clark Hunt too for getting hands on and making sure he protected his empire, many owners wouldn't take fans to heart in making decisions. I appreciate his effort.
