Draftniks. Put your money where your mouth is.
Not literally, because that just gets saliva on your money.
List the Chiefs' draft if you had been in charge, and then at the end of the season we'll look at them and perhaps have some sort of discussion or contest to see who would've made the best GM. Rules: 1. List your picks by round, and the player you take has to have been available to the Chiefs at that point. For example, you cannot take Calvin Johnson in the 5th round. 2. If you would've traded up, please do so, and assume that you would be giving up picks that are equal in value on this handy-dandy draft value chart. http://www.theredzone.org/2006/draft...valuechart.asp You cannot trade your 7th for Detroit's 1st, even if you're sure that you could talk Matt Millen into it. You can also not trade players to move up, so you cannot trade the rights to William Bartee for the #1 pick in the draft. 3. Please, and I cannot emphasize this enough, please be honest in how you would've picked. If you would've picked Troy Smith in the first, don't fudge just because you know now that you could've gotten him with a second. 4. Ignore the "stepped on a butterfly in the age of dinosaurs" argument. If the person doesn't show up on the list before your pick, they're eligible. If they do, they're not eligible. For your convenience, here is a list of draftees. http://www.nfl.com/draft/drafttracker/round/round1 Here's what my draft would've looked like. 1st: DT Alan Branch. Bowe was #2 on my list, but Branch was #1. 2nd: DT Demarcus Tyler. I would've really been looking for a WR here, but they were all gone by this point, so I would've gone with the top player on my list. Taaaaaaank. 3rd: G Josh Beekman. It would've been between him and CB Tanard Jackson, but Beekman has a more cool name. 5ath: WR Aundrae Allison. Top receiver on the board by that time for me. 5bth: K Mason Crosby. Seriously, I would've taken a kicker, and my magazines liked Crosby. 6th: ILB Brandon Siler. My magazines rated him highly. 7th: RB Nate Ilaoa. Just for gochiefs. And LJ. Honestly, I think I like the Chiefs' draft better than my own. |

I'll play along. Using the BPA philosophy:
1. Branch. Branch and Beason probably would have been the two highest guys remaining on my list. DT is a desperate need so I would have given Branch the edge; provided the medical staff said he doesn't have broken legs. Bad wheels = Beason. 2. Kalil would have been the pick since I felt he had 1st round talent. 3. Charles Johnson. A little raw, but amazing numbers. 5a. Brandon Frye. 5b. Michael Coe (CB) 6. Siler (ILB) 7. David Ball (WR)

1. Use a 4th in '08 and 6th round pick in '07 to trade up to 20. Hold Cleveland hostage for Brady Quinn, getting the same package that Dallas got for their pick.
2a--with the pick from Cleveland, draft Dwayne Jarrett 2b Ryan Kalil 3: Tank Tyler 5a: Kolby Smith (like the pick) 5b: Medlock (like this as well 6: Traded as Part of Quinn Package 7: Brandon Siler, ILB, Florida

According to reports, they weren't willing to deal with an AFC team unless they had to. They didn't have to. It takes two to tango. Don't see how this is CP's fault...... |

I'm not gonna do trades because I'm lazy and don't want to look at that chart. So here's mine:
1. Meachem 2. Ryan Kalil 3. Tank 5a. Medlock 5b. Michael Coe 6. Jacob Ford 7. Keith Jackson Yes the last three are homer picks. |

Here's what would kill me were I a Raider fan:
I could have Drafted Joe Thomas in 1, Blaylock at the top of R2, traded Moss to NE for a 4, used that to move up from 3 to late 2 and gotten Kalil. They would have had a DEVASTATING left side of the line had that occurred. Thank god they got none of those players. Dumbasses.

What the Chiefs did was get two much-needed DTs, one of which is undersized but probably a better fit for the Cover 2 than Branch, and still got a much, much better WR. As I have said several times, we have too many holes to fill with one draft. Rather than try to plug a position each round, we got (IMO) quality guys at nearly every pick. Next year, hopefully, we'll get some OLs and CBs (and maybe a LB or two, too). |

When bringing up Cleveland you have to take into account from what I've heard come from Herm and reports..........
They were unwilling to make the trade they made with Dallas with an AFC team, they made the Chiefs an offer but it wasn't close to what they offered Dallas. |

They wanted to keep day 1 picks, so they gave away a likely Top 10 pick to Dallas. They didn't want to deal with us. Plain and simple. |
