This too. If we gave up a 3rd this year and a 4th next year and we draft a "second" tier QB this year to develop I will feel a lot better.

Am i wrong here, or did we just go from the last QB drafted in 2005 to the first Qb taken in 2005? Yet the difference is marginal lol

Lmao just looked it up. He had 36 throws over 20 yards in 2011. 17 last year. Matt Cassel had 34 just last year and he was out half the season.

This team is just idiotic.

I think Smith is the plan for at least a good 3-4 years.

*Im going to be optimistic about this move and say that I think he could be successful in KC. He is kinda in a similar situation here to the one he was in SF. He is playing in a similar style of offense and under another good head coach. He thrived in SF in that situation and why not here? The only difference now is that his team is not as good. Other than that, no reason to believe why he can't be successful?

Who really cares if it's one second or two. Either way is overpaying, either one is one of the worst trades I've ever seen.

If they made this trade with Romeo and ***** on board, I'm taking this differently.

From the news I've gathered, the Chiefs are comfortable letting Smith play these 2 years out. If year one goes extremely well, they will likely approach him about an extension.

They are also going to be looking to upgrade at TE and shift Moeaki into more of Delanie Walker role. If Finley gets cut, he's a definite target.

Great post and pretty much where I'm at too...I'm actually really intrigued now to see what they do with the rest of the offseason and in the draft. Think this was the first of many big moves, curious to see what Dorsey has up his sleeve.
