What is something that is secretly cool about your job?

I'm not talking about salary or vacation benefits. I'm talking about stuff that's not obvious to an outsider and will never be mentioned as a benefit, but nonetheless it's kind of cool and brings you a little enjoyment in your workday.

For me, a secret cool thing is that I get to go behind the scenes at tons of jobs. I've gotten to tour the back operations at everything from jails to caulk factories to college presidents' offices, and I get to hear about their industries and challenges and how they view the world. I really like doing this.

Another secret cool thing is that when we do focus groups we often get to take home pizza and brownies.

The third cool thing is that I get to know all sorts of great internet places for data. I'm always hunting around and finding odd data sets. Granted, not everyone may think that's cool, but I do.

What about y'all?

We share a suite there with a law firm...8 tickets to any event that happens...they are rarely spoken for, so I just request what I'd like to go to ahead of time and it happens. I just got 4 seats to NIN.
It's less common in my end of the market, but we did score a bunch of seats to concerts and The Book of Mormon this year. It's nice.

A coworkers husband is a sys admin at a place were they have to be lenient with browsing because of their work so he can't put a lot of restrictions on them. The company offers the use of computers in the cafeteria for personal use.Shopping, social media anything but porn. Yet some people still tried to shop with computers on the corporate network. So he would watch them shop and wait till they were at checkout and BAM kill their connection.

I bet there's something. Give it some thought.

Ability to use the company pencil sharpener for personal pencils?
Female coworker with low-cut tops?
Use of recycled office paper for kindling?
Big furnace provides place to dispose of bodies?

I work from home and there is so much freedom. Pants are optional every day. Everything you wish you could do at work, I do. I have my own bathroom, "cafeteria" with better, cheaper food. No traffic, no gas expense. The list goes on.

Edit: It appears I posted twice and am a dumb ass.

Awesome! Congratulations!

(If I give you $20, will you put a cameo picture of me in there somewhere? Maybe riding an ostrich or something?)

While I agree that it's a nice benefit, I think it would be too distracting for me in the long run.
