Preseason last year where he ended with a 14-25 game for 169 yards, 3 TD and 1 pick, netting him a rating just under 100 in his first real extended action? That preseason?

I get the issues he had in college, I get that he has a history of questionable maturity, I get that he's a long shot and honestly I don't ever expect anything from him, but come on. "Body of work"? His body of work started last year, it didn't end when he left Fayetteville and he doesn't need to be defined by what he was in college, any more than any other pro. Sure, maybe that's all he'll ever be. And maybe it's not.

And the simplest thing is this: we want this guy to be good. The best thing that can possibly happen to this franchise at the QB position moving forward is for it to eventually come down to a tough decision between him and Murray. There's no reason to give up on either guy at this point or to actively root against either of them.

I'm not saying he isn't but I don't recall any one specific report of him being like he was this time last year. Haven't heard much about his footwork either I wonder if it's coming along.
