Did anyone see "The Man with the Exploding Arms" on Discovery (or TLC) last night?

My wife got grossed out and turned the channel after about ten minutes, but it was about the guy with the largest biceps in the world (fatties excluded). The guy is 5'-5" in height, and he's got 28-inch biceps.

He got fixated on weight training as a kid, and trained for 23 years naturally, and looked pretty good. Then he started taking steroids and - BOOM!

The thing is, his arms looked gross. I kid you not, his biceps looked like a regular strong arm with a can of vegetables tucked under the skin. His biceps were about 3 inches long and 6 inches high. Same with the bottom part of his bicep area. It was nothing but a smaller can of vegetables hanging off the bottom. When he was just walking around, it looked like he had big fat-guy arms because these enormous muscles just kind of fell down near his elbows.

It was really not a good look.

my wife watches all of those medical mystery shows...from "The Boy Who's Skin Fell Off" to "The Girl Who Turned to Stone".

I didn't see it, but what you're describing sounds like Synthol injection.
It wasn't Greg Valnetino perchance was it?

I think it was.

I didn't know that his arms literally exploded. That's kind of nasty. I thought they were just talking about explosive growth.

One bicep got infected and looked like he was carrying a bowling ball under his skin.

He ended up in the hopsital and, I guess, really messed up his weight lifting routines.

Yeah, he looked gross.

Did you see the one that had the female body builder? She was gross. Sounded like a guy.....well, not exactly like a guy, kinda like Jeff Garcia.

Yeah, that's from Synthol injections.

It's not steroids, it's literally an oil you inject into your skin above the muscle to add mass. It's rumored that a lot of pros do it to cheat, and taken marginarlly I've heard it's hard to spot, but some people obviously take it overboard. That guy Valentino uses the shit out of Synthol but denies it at every turn. It's the biggest joke in bodybuilding, everybody knows and he knows that everybody knows and he doesn't bother to enter competitions because of it, but if you ask him point blank he still denies it.

I've seen pictures where the skin over his bicep burst from it and he had to have it stiched up.
