2009 Mock Draft

I thought this was odd...

"The draft order in this mock draft was determined by calculated judgment on how I believe the teams will fair this season. All of the prospects in this mock draft are eligible for the 2009 draft, but just because they’re eligible, that doesn’t mean they will declare. With that said, congratulations to the Dallas Cowboys for winning Super Bowl XLIII and to the Kansas City Chiefs for finishing with the worst record, as they continue to rebuild their football team. The Chiefs are now on the clock…"

I'd rather be underestimated.... Last season was a big let down after going 4-3 and then 9 losses in a row. I mean, I didn't think we'd win an SB, but I was hoping for more than 4-12... I like this "If we have 6 or more wins, this is a productive season" feeling that I have. 6 wins aren't that hard to come by.... (I didn't say this last season, so I figure if I say it this one, it can't possibly hurt.... and I'm ready for the repercussions if we don't win 6 or more... this quote can be placed in my signature....)

He'll probably start, but I don't think he'll be that good. Mobile QB's are good for me. I don't like running QB's. Injuries are too common.

Really, you must me mentally challenged. How can you say that so matter-of-factly. I mean, you could have said that you don't think he has the shoulders for it or something like that. I think he wasn't given a legitimate shot last season. He needs a little more help than 2 options to throw to, especially with the leagues worst OL and literally NO running game. How can you evaluate him based on that situation. I can't think of any situation which would be worse for a QB to get his first chances to start in than our team last season.

Anyone that compares Brodie Croyle to Troy Aikman and John Elway are comparing him to two first ballot Hall of Famers.

Croyle's had TWO years to do something, not just one. He was horrific in Pittburgh in 2006 and couldn't eek out a win in 2007.

All I can say is that I'll be happy when there can be no more excuses made for Croyle.

Is that not comparing Croyle's early career to Elway & Aikman's career?

I'm comparing what they had to work with when they started, which was nothing. When they finally got the players to win they succeeded

It looks like there is a bit more elite talent in the '09 draft. Even if the Chiefs don't pick in the top five, they'll still get an elite playmaker.

I think comparing Croyle's career to two Hall of Fame QB's is tenuous at best.

Teams have been built around QB's before that couldn't succeed. Like Dilfer in Tampa Bay or Alex Smith in San Fran or David Carr in Houston. The list is endless.

There's are dozens of examples of teams that were built around a QB, only for that QB to be not worth a shit and the team had to move on.

When has Croyle had a chance with the proper tools to work with? He had no O-Line at all, HOFers would have been murdered by the OL last season.
