Chiefs Cut days

Seems like every year, someone starts a thread wanting to know cut dates, so I figured I would start a thread and get the question answered. Sorry if Repost

# August 21-25 — Week 3 of preseason games with featured match-ups: HOU @ DAL on 8/22 (CBS), PIT @ MIN on 8/23 (CBS), and SEA @ SD on 8/25 (ESPN)
# August 26 — Roster cutdown to maximum of 75 players.
# August 28-29 — Week 4 of preseason games with featured match-ups: JAC @ WAS on 8/28 (NBC) and SD @ SF on 8/29
# August 30 — Roster cutdown to maximum of 53 players.
# September 2 — NFL teams can sign up to 8 players to their practice squad.

Now that the NFL Europe exemption is gone, I don't see the point of 2 cutdowns. We have to cut 5 scrubs by next tuesday. They will probably be some camp fodder that we never heard of. Why bother? Either make the preseason max 75, or just leave them all on the roster until final cut down. It just seems dumb to me. But, so does having a 53 man roster, but only be able to dress 45 for game day.

I had the same question. This thread's probably gonna drop again, but does anyone know the logic as to why the NFL allows 53 on the roster but limits dressed - for - game players to 45 ?

If you don't know the NFL's reason, does anyone have their own idea as to why ?
