Well, the franchise tag on Bowe or Carr needs to happen here pretty soon.

Not if they think they have already made a better offer than Bowe is going to receive in free agency. They might think he needs to realize that he is asking way too much and the only way that happens is if he going to other teams and gets a similar offer to what the Chiefs have offered.

I'd think you would tag one though before they can get to free agency, just to make sure you still have one next year. |

They have both Bowe and Carr unsigned and will probably lose Carr. Sounds like strike one to me. Strike 2 will be if we can't get a QB better than Henne to come in for competition. To me that strike would be a firing offense added onto hiring the wrong coach and getting your first draft pick so off.

From Rotoworld...
SI's Peter King reports Peyton Manning would like to be a part of a "package deal" with free agent Reggie Wayne. King says Manning would "love" to see the pairing happen, while Wayne is "very interested in the combo platter." According to King, "at least" two potential suitors are already open to the idea. King believes the Dolphins, Jets, Seahawks, Redskins and Cardinals would all be open to the arrangement in some form. Noted for the nearly telepathic connection he likes to cultivate with his receivers, the move would be a boon for Manning, but it's possible Wayne's demands in free agency could spoil the party. Related: Reggie Wayne Source: Sports Illustrated Feb 28 - 12:51 PM How big would this play for Payton if money is close and one team would sign Wayne and the other wont. Ross wants Manning real bad...I think he would be willing to do this in Miami. |
