My initial thought, but he might just have been talking about the defense.

It's hard to be enthusiastic about a win like this given the pattern that's been established. Winning just enough to fall out of position to pick a potential franchise quarterback. Or winning just enough to make the playoffs and get destroyed. Letting one of the worst 4-year starting QBs in history return because we looked just adequate enough to give him a second chance. It's a vicious cycle, and unless this team either goes 14-2 and wins the SB without a QB or goes 1-15 and takes a real one, it ain't gonna break.

Threads like this rock imo. I hope some of the players see this and develop an "us against the world" kind of attitude.

If Matt Cassel were playing for the 49ers right now, they would still be 2-1. The guy's not a natural born leader due to his baby face and demeamor and he's only going to take you as far as the rest of the team can carry him.
If, or when, you ever get a decent QB, other areas of the team will suffer as a result of the QB contract. Since Cassel is not going anywhere this season, it would make more sense to focus on the supporting areas that aren't doing their job. |

And for the first half we were with them every step of the way. Actually up until the missed FG.

Great. We can be the 2003 Chiefs with half a team.
