Don't blame the candidates because they'd be walking into a position to fail. Coach in place whom he doesn't want? Check. QBs in place whom he doesn't want and one whom he likely can't get rid of because of contract? Check.

If the Jets would commit to part with Rex Ryan and draft a new QB if a new GM came in, they wouldn't be in this situation. Basically what is going to happen is some GM will come in having to inherit this mess and then hope he can make a move after next season with those two issues. The Jets have been a freaking circus as of late.

Chiefs do need one more pass rusher. But the notion you need 5 or 6 is ****ing laughable.

The Texans have 2 guys right now who could generate pressure and they get a ton of it.

Romeo isn't an attacking DC by any means.

My bad about Mercilus and didn't realize Smith had that many sacks.

However, Smith is hardly a pass rusher and most of his sacks could be attributed to scheme.

Scheme absolutely will help a lot of these numbers if it's an attacking one-gap style.

Chiefs need one more impact rusher, but having 3 guys that can bring heat will do nothing but free up the down lineman to make plays.

Well my point is, Tyson Jackson or Allen Bailey or whatever turd not named Dontari Poe isnt even close to an Antonio Smith type pass rusher, whether it's scheme or not. That is obvious, and that is why, we need more pass rushers like the good pass rushing teams have

Pitoutua knows the Ryan scheme and can plug into a 46. If Poe progresses, you have Poe, Houston, Hali, DJ, and Berry situationally. It's possible a guy like Bailey can thrive if you let him stunt a little bit. Our mission critical is to have 1 guy who can play the role of pass rushing 5-technique.

We shouldn't model ourselves after the Texans, nor should we think there's a problem because we don't have a JJ Watt on our defensive line. I know you keep bringing him up. He's the exception, not the rule.

Think Poe has potentially to be a decent push guy with time. The Chiefs have 2 outstanding pass rushers in Houston and Hali. I guarantee you that DJ will be a solid pass rusher if he's let loose, and Berry can most certainly be an option too (especially in a 46). We have at least 3 to 4 guys who can probably today step in and be decent pass rushers in a better scheme. Again, DJ can't rush the passer if he's not allowed to blitz. Our DEs can't rush the passer if they're never allowed to stunt.
