THE LAW NABS BRIAN GRIESE AGAIN
Things continue to get worse for Denver Broncos QB Brian Griese. The Associated Press is reporting that the state of Florida has cancelled his driver's license because of a previous infraction. When Griese was pulled over last Saturday night, he showed the highway patrolman his Florida driver's license. Once a computer scan was run, it was discovered that Griese was driving under a suspended license from the state of Michigan. The state of Michigan suspended his license because he was unsuccessful in paying fines for two minor violations, which involved non-use of a seat belt and having defective equipment. In 1997 Griese applied for a Florida replacement license and received it in November of that year. However, he said he had neither been licensed nor lost his driving privileges in another state when he filled out the replacement application. In other twist, Griese was awarded a driver's license in 1990 from the state of Florida, but upon applying for a Michigan license in 1997, he was forced to surrender to his original license. <BR>

"Oh COME ON!! Everybody has had multiple outstanding fines and warrants against them. If it were Elvis, this wouldn't even be an issue. Griese's such a good guy. You chief fans are too harsh on us good, God-fearing Bronco's. Stop picking on Griese. He's a good guy. Honestly!"

Com'n MI. I hate the Donks as much as anyone. But surely your not gonna hold Griese's feet to the fire over a seatbelt violation? If he's been out of state so long and represented that he hadn't lost his privileges [knowing those things could be verified], it is just as likely [likely, not guaranteed] that he made a plea [defective equipment is a common plea for minor (10-15 over) speeding offenses] and either paid the fine to his attorney, who forgot to forward it, or paid directly to the county court, who failed to enter it properly.

And it MI is anything like MO, IL or KS, seatbelt violations never arise alone. The defective equip and seatbelt violation were likely issued arising from the same incident.

JC & Gaz,
I was just trying to stir the pot. It was all in jest. I just couldn't help myself. Maybe next time, self-control will get the better of me.

This is a drag for him. Colorado will probably take his license till everything is cleared up. They won't let you get a license in any state if another state has suspended it. Looks like someone might have a full time job driving him around.

In MO, a DWI is an 8 point violation. In other words you lose your license. So his driving privledges are gone for a year. Secondly, MI will probably close the files if he just pays his fines. FL could charge him with illegally obtaining a license. Nothing earth shaking here, but you know this is all a "private personal matter" and none of "anyone's business"

Come on Gaz...you know as well as Bob Dole that hundreds, nay thousands of innocent bystanders are killed each year by beltless drivers who hurl from their vehicle and strike them.

Stop pretending like you don't understand the importance of seat belt crimes.
